STEP 1: LET’S TALK!

EVERY DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT STARTS WITH A CALL TO GET TO KNOW MORE ABOUT YOU, YOUR HOME AND WHAT YOU’RE IMAGINING. IF WE BOTH THINK WE ARE A GOOD FIT, WE’LL SCHEDULE A IN-HOME CONSULTATION TO LEARN MORE ABOUT HOW WE CAN HELP YOU BEGIN YOUR JOURNEY TO A BEAUTIFUL HOME & A SUCCESSFUL PROJECT! WE DISCUSS DESIGN IDEAS, SCOPE OF THE PROJECT, TIMELINES, BUDGET, RETAINER AND PROCESS. WE ALSO PROVIDE AN ESTIMATED PRICE RANGE OF WHAT YOUR PROJECT WILL COST BASED ON OUR DISCUSSION.

STEP 2: COLLABORATION WITH YOUR DESIGNER!

WHEN WE AGREE ON THE SCOPE OF WORK AND RETAINER, WE SCHEDULE THE FIRST DESIGN MEETING AT YOUR HOME. WE ARE CERTAIN YOU WILL BE AS EXCITED AS WE ARE TO GET STARTED! AT THIS MEETING WE DOCUMENT YOUR PROJECT WITH MEASUREMENTS AND PHOTOS. WE ALSO DISCUSS DESIGN DETAILS, MATERIALS, AND PREFERENCES IN GREATER DETAIL. DURING THIS PHASE, WE WILL WORK WITH YOU TO DEVELOP IDEAS INTO BLUEPRINTS, ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNS, AND OTHER VISUAL MOCK-UPS. WE THEN MAKE REVISIONS AND UPDATES UNTIL EVERYTHING REFLECTS YOUR VISION.

STEP 3: PRE-CONSTRUCTION FUN!

BEFORE BREAKING GROUND ON YOUR APPROVED DESIGNS, YOUR DESIGN-BUILD CONTRACTOR & DESIGNER WILL WORK WITH YOU TO FINALIZE DETAILS SUCH AS COLORS, MATERIALS, FINISHES, FIXTURES, AND MORE. WE WILL DO A “WALK THROUGH” WITH THE TEAM WORKING ON YOUR PROJECT TO ALLOW FOR DISCOVERY, DISCUSSION ABOUT THE DESIGN, SCOPE & SITE CONDITIONS. IT IS A VITAL PART OF OUR PROCESS BECAUSE WE PROBLEM SOLVE WITH OUR TEAM, WHICH CUTS DOWN ON SURPRISED ONCE WE BEGIN CONSTRUCTION.

STEP 4: CONSTRUCTION DAY IS HERE!

NOW THE FUN BEGINS! AS WORK ON YOUR PROJECT PROGRESSES, YOU CAN EXPECT REGULAR COMMUNICATION AND UPDATES FROM YOUR DESIGN-BUILD PROJECT MANAGER. BECAUSE DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION ARE HANDLED BY A SINGLE ENTITY, YOU CAN EXPECT PROJECT PROGRESS WITH CONSISTENT COMMUNICATION ALONG THE WAY. ONCE YOUR PROJECT IS FINISHED, WE WILL HAVE AN EXCITING “REVEAL” AND A WALK THROUGH, POINTING OUT IMPORTANT DETAILS, TAKING YOUR FEEDBACK, AND MAKING SURE NOTHING HAS BEEN LEFT OUT.

    Kelly, with KELLY CANADA DESIGN + BUILD + INTERIORS was introduced to me by a friend who was very happy with her services and results. Kelly has worked on two homes for me and both projects turned out much better than I expected. To note, Kelly was the first designer I have ever hired, so you could imagine my trepidation. She asked me to give her photos, etc. on the style and colors I was looking to have in my home. Kelly was tasked to give my home a “face lift” as opposed to a complete remodel...which in reality is much more difficult. She had to work with pieces I wasn’t willing to give up and we created a totally different design theme. She was amazing and pulled it all together beautifully!

    SO CUMULATIVE AND COLLABORATIVE…

    We had always considered ourselves rather adept in the design aspects of our home. With that being said, we were a bit apprehensive when first making the decision to hire a designer to aid us in our home interior. It was extremely important to us that our home not end up looking “designed” or that the house lose us in the process. There was of course an idea of how we wanted the house to end up looking. What we ended up with FAR exceeded our expectations. The process, and it is a process, was cumulative and collaborative.

    Kelly was able to take our ideas, put them into an amazing plan to transform our home into the sanctuary where we now reside. She opened our minds to incredible features that we would have never thought of on our own. We found that many of our pre-conceived ideas were really quite “seen” and typical. Kelly introduced us to fabulous textiles, furniture, art and unique found objects that we would have never considered before.

    Had we not hired Kelly we would have ended up right where we started, frustrated with a house that lacked interest and continuity. Kelly was great at showing us everything for approval prior to decisions. There were times when we just took a leap of faith and trusted that something chosen would end up being the right thing. It always was. It was truly a wonderful and gratifying experience working with Kelly. Our home is just that, our home.

    Our input and taste is evident in all corners, walls, windows and furniture.

    Kelly is a multi-talented designer. She is even great at arranging and hanging pictures!

    We have since purchased a second home in New England and will be hiring Kelly to do her magic once again!
